What Is Main Streets?

Main Streets is a highly successful federally-funded, city-sponsored program that promotes the revitalization of neighborhood business districts through resident and merchant cooperation and improved access to funding sources. There are currently 19 designated Main Streets districts in the Boston Main Streets program enjoying renewed economic health thanks to this program.

The West Roxbury Main Streets Exploratory Committee is a small group of business owners and residents who came together through a shared interest in improving the local business district. The committee is a temporary body doing the preliminary work of researching the program, distributing information to the business and resident communities, and laying the necessary groundwork so that West Roxbury will be ready to submit an application on the August 9th deadline.
